【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresformeasuringreactionratesbytheactivationreactions46Ti(n,p)46Sc+47Ti(n,np)46Sc.Note18212;Sincethecrosssectionforthe(n,np)reactionisrelativelysmallforenergieslessthan12MeVandisnoteasilydistinguishedfromthatofthe(n,p)reaction,thistestmethodwillrefertothe(n,p)reactiononly.1.2Thereactionisusefulformeasuringneutronswithenergiesaboveapproximately4.4MeVandforirradiationtimesuptoabout250days(forlongerirradiations,seePracticeE261).1.3Withsuitabletechniques,fission-neutronfluenceratesabove109cm-2s-1canbedetermined.However,inthepresenceofahighthermal-neutronfluencerate,46Scdepletionshouldbeinvestigated.1.4Detailedproceduresforotherfast-neutrondetectorsarereferencedinPracticeE261.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
