【摘要】:ISO/IEC14478specifiestechniquesforsupportinginteractivesingle,andmultiplemediaapplicationswhichrecognizeandem-phasizetheinterrelationshipsamonguserinterfaces,multimediaapplications,andmultimediainformationinterchange.ISO/IEC14478definesaflexibleenvironmenttoencompassmodularfunctionalityandisextensiblethroughthecreationoffu-turecomponents,bothwithinandoutsideofstandardscommittees.Itsupportsawiderangeofmultimediaapplicationsinacon-sistentway,fromsimpledrawingsuptofullmotionvideo,sound,andvirtualrealityenvironments.ISO/IEC14478isindependentofanyparticularimplementationlanguage,developmentenvironment,orexecutionenvironment.Forintegrationintoaprogrammingenvironment,thestandardshallbeembeddedinasystemdependentinterfacefollowingtheparticularconventionsofthatenvironment.ISO/IEC14478providesversatilepackagingtechniquesbeyondthecapabilitiesofmonolithicsingle-mediasystems.Thisallowsrearrangingandextendingfunctionalitytosatisfyrequirementsspecifictopartic-ularapplicationareas.ISO/IEC14478isdevelopedincrementallywithparts1through4initiallyavailable.OthercomponentsareexpectedtobestandardizedbyISO/IECJTC1SC24orothersubcommittees.ISO/IEC14478providesaframeworkwithinwhichapplication-definedwaysofinteractingwiththeenvironmentcanbeinte-grated.Methodsforthedefinition,presentation,andmanipulationofbothinputandoutputobjectsaredescribed.Application-suppliedstructuringofobjectsisalsoallowedandcan,forexample,beusedasabasisforthedevelopmentoftoolkitsforthecreationof,presentationof,andinteractionwithmultimediaandhyper-mediadocumentsandproductmodeldata.ISO/IEC14478isabletosupportconstruction,presentation,andinteractionwithmultiplesimultaneousinputsandoutputsusingmultiplemedia.Severalsuchactivitiesmayoccursimultaneously,andtheapplicationprogramcanadaptitsbehaviourtomakebestuseofthecapabilitiesofitsenvironment.ISO/IEC14478includesinterfacesforexternalstorage,retrievalandinterchangeofmultimediaobjects.
